Hemlata Khiwani

Her role models were none other than Lata Mangeshkar and Noor Jahan. Hemalata Khiwani born in Abohar, Punjab on December 20, 1974 started singing from the age of 8. A Sangeet Visharad (B.A.) Pracheen Kala Kendra Chd. took her classical music lessons from Surdhani Arora in her hometown. She sang title tracks for regional TV shows such as ‘Bahare Laut Ke Aayengi’ on DD Urdu and ‘Aaja Mud aa Watna Nu’ on Alpha Punjabi. Along with TV shows, she sang for devotional albums such as Naina Devi Ban ke Chintapurni Ban ke, Farida Kriye Na Hankar, Dati De Dware, Chlo Chle Shaam Dware, Chlo Amarnath, Amarnath Ki Katha and Chlo Salasar Chliye. Besides, this she has also crooned to several Punjabi albums. After winning several accolades during her high school, she bagged best folk singer from Surjeet Singh Barnala, former chief minister of Punjab as well as a best singer award in Jalandhar.
