Shantanu Herlekar’s unique style of Classical and Fusion music creates a new blend of sound altogether.
Belonging to a traditional family of Sanskrit Pandit’s and musicians from Belgaum, Karnataka, he took his music lessons from his father and well known Hindustani Classical vocalist Shri. Nandan Herlekar.
Later he went on to study music under the guidance of one of the most successful vocalists of India Padmashree Shubha Mudgal. At the age of 10, he was awarded with a scholarship from Govt. of India for studying music. Recently he was awarded with Pt. Vishnu Digambar Paluskar award. Honoured with ‘Sangeet Alankar’ degree and he also holds a Bachelors degree in History and is a pass out of ‘School of Audio Engineering’.
He has developed himself as a playback singer and composer and has sung/composed for many serials and films in Hindi, Marathi and Kannada. Shantanu has performed across the globe.
Jait re jait, a National award winning Marathi film had cast a spell on the audience with its rustic-ness. Not only the imagery but even the songs remain rife till date.
