AKFPL is a production company set up by the ace director Anurag kashyap and producer Guneet Monga.
AKFPL believes in delivering meaningful cinema, mirroring our society in its myriad hues and shades. Spearheaded by writer-director, Anurag Kashyap and producer Guneet Monga, the company is carving a niche for itself in both national and international markets.
Since its inception, the company has churned out films like Udaan (2010), That Girl in Yellow Boots (2010), Shaitan (2011) and Gangs of Wasseypur (I & II). Some upcoming films include Michael, Monsoon Shootout, Aiyyaa, and Peddlers. AKFPL co-produced Trishna directed by Michael Winterbottom. Projects under-development include The Lunchbox (Dabba); Toba Tek Singh and Danis Tanović’s next venture.
Gangs of Wasseypur (I & II) and Peddlers were premiered at the Directors' Fortnight and International Critics' Week sections at Cannes Film Festival. Trishna and Michael screened at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2011. Udaan was officially selected to compete in the Un Certain Regard category at Cannes Film Festival, 2010 and Window on Asian Cinema category at Pusan International Film Festival, the same year. That Girl in Yellow Boots, was at Venice Film Festival in 2010 and later at Toronto Film Festival.
