Gauri Khan is an Indian movie producer, an interior designer and the wife of the famous Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan. Gauri is a Hindu, born into a Punjabi joint family in Delhi. She did her schooling in Loreta Convent for 10 years and graduated from Modern School, in New Delhi. She holds a degree in History from Lady Shri Ram College.
In 2002, she co-founded Red Chillies Entertainment, a film production and distribution company along with her husband, where she serves as the main producer. She has produced movies including 'Main Hoon Na', 'Paheli', 'Om Shanti Om', 'Billu', 'My Name Is Khan' and a few more. She use to host a weekly Hindi music countdown show 'Oye', for a music channel in 1990's. She is also the the face of the fashion line, 'Aftershock'. Khan first expressed interest in interior designing as a hobby while doing up her bandra bungalow, 'Mannat'. In 2010, she got into designing with Sussanne Roshan to design exclusive interior projects together. The same year, they collaborated on their first commercial project together in Vadodara of a massive 60 thousand sq ft private home.
In 2012, she launched her own line of furniture in partnership with Roshan's home store in Mumbai - The Charcoal Project. Gauri has always kept a low profile, though she is media shy she is one of the most stylish women in Bollywood. The magazine vogue has called her the 'First Lady of Bollywood'.
