Ram Charan is an Indian film actor. Coming from a family long associated with Telugu cinema, Ram Charan is the son of actor Chiranjeevi and the grandson of veteran comedian Allu Rama Lingaiah. He is also the nephew of producer Allu Aravind and actor Pawan Kalyan, and cousin to fellow actor Allu Arjun. Ram Charan is fluent in Tamil and is an accomplished equestrian.

Charan made his film debut in 2007 in Chirutha, which was directed by Purijagannadh. His second film, S. S. Rajamouli's Magadheera (2009), emerged a critical as well as commercial success, becoming the highest-grossing Telugu film till date.  His third film was Bhaskar’s Orange, released on November 26, 2010. The film stars Genelia D'Souza as the lead actress.Though the film is not accepted by all sections of audience, many critics has applauded Charan for trying a different role despite the big mass image he has.
Ram Charan was seen in Merupu opposite Kajal Agarwal. Ram Charan appeared on the cover of the December 2009 South India edition of People magazine.
Ram will be making his Bollywood debut with the film 'Zanjeer', a remake of the 1973 film of the same title, where he will be playing the role which was originally played by actor Amitabh Bachchan.
