Sachin Gupta is an Indian Music director, composer, guitar player, record producer and a singer. He is a young and dynamic musician, whose art is slowly but surely making him a name to reckon with in the Indian Film Industry. From being a part of the internationally renowned world music band, Mrigya, to creating the biggest pop album in the history of Indian music, Sachin has already achieved a lot in his short career.

It was while performing at BITS Pilani, at their annual fest, that a member of the renowned Indian fusion band Mrigya noticed Sachin and invited him to join the band.

For more than three years that he was a part of Mrigya, Sachin performed in over 600 concerts both in India and abroad as the lead guitarist. His lucky break came at one such concert in London, where Sachin met the then Vice-President of Tips industries, who offered him to move to Mumbai and work as a music producer/director under Tips.

Since then, there has been no looking back. Sachin is credited with being the producer of the single biggest pop hit that the country has ever seen. “Doorie”, the title track from Atif Aslam’s second album by the same name, holds the record for the same. Sachin not only composed the music for this song and album but even penned the lyrics.

Over the next three years, Sachin worked on close to fifteen pop albums with some of the biggest singers in India and Pakistan. Again, apart from being the music director, Sachin also wrote certain songs on most of these albums.

The Indian film industry, or Bollywood as it is more popularly known, was the obvious next step and Sachin took this big step by composing a couple of songs in films like 'Strangers' and 'Jugaad'. His first film as a solo music director was 'Dil Kabaddi' in 2008, which featured the chart topping hit “Ehsaan”. With this song, Sachin also made his debut as a singer.

Sachin’s biggest film, till now, is the newly released film by Tips Industries, 'Prince'. The music has already created a buzz with fans and critics alike and is on top of the charts. Sachin has not only composed the music for the entire film album but has even sung an unplugged version of the hit song “Tere Liye”. Moreover, the movie has been dubbed in Tamil and Telugu and Sachin has sung all the songs on both the regional albums.

Sachin was born in a family of doctors and has studied science at school level. He was in Frank Anthony and spent a couple of years in Apeejay School in New Delhi. Having gotten through IIT-Delhi in Mechanical Engineering, Sachin decided to instead study Physics (honours) and went to Sri Venkateswara College in Delhi University but after a year, he moved to study B.Com (Hons) at Shahid Bhagat Singh College, while pursuing music simultaneously.

He was introduced to the guitar at the age of seven by his mother and ever since, he took music as his calling in life. He has performed at over 600 concerts across various countries including Dubai, London, Singapore, New Zealand and Australia, which included major music festivals such as the Jazz Fest, Edinburgh Fest and Scotland Fest. He met with the Vice-President of TIPS Films in London during one of his shows and he moved to Mumbai in 2005. A progression into Bollywood came naturally to him.
