Vaishali Samant is an Indian playback and pop singer who has worked in several languages like Hindi, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Bengali et al. She also dons the roles of a Music Director and Lyricist today.
Vaishali started her initial lessons of music from the tender age of eight under accomplished Natya Sangeet exponent Mrs. Jyotsna Mohile. She further received formal training in Indian classical music from Mrs. Katti and Shree Jayant Datar for five years. She went on to learn the technique of blending Indian classical with international music from Guru Pandit Manohar Chimote.
In the world of movies, she has sung for music composers like A.R.Rahman, Viju Shah, Daboo Malik and Monty Sharma. Vaishali has also lent her voice to songs for films like Padmashree Laloo Prasad Yadav, Girlfriend, Eight, Malamaal Weekly, Tujhe Meri Kasam, Chetna, Dil Jo bhi Kahe, Traffic Signal.
Vaishali has worked with many renowned DJ’s like DJ Aqeel, Dj Akbar Sami, DJ Notorius, DJ Suketu, DJ Nasha with scores of super hit remixes to her credit like Tu Tu Hai Wohi,Dilbar Dil Se, Dhagala lagli kala, Disco 82, Keh doon Tumhe, Sajna Hai Mujhe and Jawan Hai Mohabbat to name a few
Her debut song Aika Dajiba made sensation all over India and since then Vaishali has performed more than 200 live shows in India and abroad . Her most well known song is Chalka Re from the movie Saathiya composed by A. R. Rahman. She has bagged over 2000 marathi songs and a few Hindi albums. She has composed songs for her albums and Marathi films and has also written lyrics for a few songs. She has won many awards including the MTV Asia Music Awards, Singapore in 2004.
Apart from Hindi and Marathi Vaishali has sung in various other languages like Bengali, Gujrati, Bhojpuri, Assamese, Tamil and Telegu for both private albums and films.
In television, Vaishali has mentored TV actor Sharad Kelar in Jhoom India which was aired on Sahara Channel. She is also judging Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Little Champs on Zee Marathi.
