Bollywood never ceases to amaze you with its choice of actors and the possibility of bringing the most oddest actors together for a film.
The film penned by debutant writer Anshul Singhal was nurtured by UTV right from its inception. When producer Siddharth Roy Kapur came across the script by Anshul, they worked on it for over a year. And now that the script is ready, they have passed on the reigns of the film in the hands of Director Nikhil Advani.
The 'Kal Ho Naa Ho' director will be helming the film and is happy to have actors like Imran and Kangana to live the urban love story on screen.
"It is a dream to work with Kangana. Her humility to her craft belies her impressive body of work. Imran on the other hand brings a fresh approach with him," he said.
The film is set in an urban setting and is about a modern couple's way to deal with a relationship amidst all the pressures.
Imran confesses that he is proud to be associated with such a film. "I've always wished to be associated with films that make me proud as an actor and Katti Batti will be one such film. Together with UTV we have made some memorable films. We hope to recreate the magic with this one too. Nikhil is a great storyteller and Kangana is one of the finest actors of our generation," said Imran.
Kangana on the other hand is happy to do a love story after a long time. "It's a beautiful love story with elements like battle of sexes and issues of urban couples. We have one of the leading creative studios UTV as the producers. I hope I do justice to this story that might change the perception of love for the new generations," exclaims Kangana.
The film is expected to go on floors this year and is slated to release in 2015.
