    13th September 2013
Preity Zinta has been issued a non-bailable arrest warrant in a cheque bouncing case.
The case was filed by Abbas Tyrewala, dialogue writer of Preity's film 'Ishkq in Paris' that released last year. Tyrewala was issued a cheque of Rs. 18.9 lakh by Zinta which bounced. The warrant was issued on Thursday by the local metropolitan magistrate's court at Andheri.
"The court has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Zinta today," confirmed her lawyer Ratneshwar Jha.
Preity has also been fined Rs. 5000 for non-appearance as she did not turn up in court on Thursday.
Jha told the court that Zinta was out of the country, but the court issued the non-bailable arrest warrant against her.
"We will move the court to cancel the warrant or we will move the Bombay high court and file a writ," Jha added.
