When filmmaker Apoorva Lakhia decided to remake Amitabh Bachchan's classic film 'Zanjeer', there were flood of reports of the original team being upset about it. Writers Javed Akhtar and Salim Khan have expressed their disappointment over it being remade.
But it seems that the film's leading pair Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan had no qualms in Apoorva remaking it. In fact, when Apoorva sought Amitabh's consent to remake it, the whole Bachchan clan welcomed him and supported his ambition.
Apoorva initially offered the role of Big B to Abhishek who refused the offer claiming that he wouldn't dare to step in his territory; after which he offered the film to Telugu star Ram Charan Teja. But nonetheless, he doesn't want to lose out on the offer and is planning to cast Amitabh, Abhishek and Jaya for special appearances in the remake.
"It's really too early to talk about the extent of Mr Bachchan’s participation in 'Zanjeer'. But yes, I can't dream of remaking Zanjeer without Mr Bachchan, Jayaji and Abhishek's participation. The project has their blessing and support", said Apoorva.
