'Kesari' a period war drama based on the battle of Saragarhi was fought by 21 Sikhs against 10,000 Afghan invaders. Akki who has aced the action-drama genre ever since his debut in Bollywood, plays a Havildar Ishar Singh who leads the team.
Video begins with invaders marching towards the fort held by Sikhs and Sikh soldiers combating them in all the possible manner, with arms and ammunitions. Akki also says that the movie focuses on Sikh's one quality which is the never give up attitude. He further says major action sequences were shot in beautiful valleys of Spiti, Mumbai and Wai, but these places had their own set of challenges in terms of climatic conditions. The team had to learn old ways of fighting battle and also weapons used in those times were not upgraded shares the actor.
Director Anurag Singh says that his favorite action sequence from the film is the climax, where Akki combats with 100 invaders single handedly. Towards the end of the making video Akshay says, "I have had one of the best times doing the action sequences for Kesari because they were so raw. It was completely out of the world. The very premise of the film is something which swells my chest with pride."
