• Confirmed: Ranbir will play Sanjay Dutt in Hirani's next

    8th May 2014

Bollywood is currently riding high on making films based on real life stories. Be it 'Shootout At Wadala', 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' or the latest 'Mary Kom' biopic, the real life stories are inspiring filmmakers like never before.

And the latest to join the list is Rajkumar Hirani, who is keen to make a film on his dear friend Sanjay Dutt's controversial life. It was recently reported that Raju along with Sanjay's wife Maanyata are co-producing the biopic that will be directed by Hirani.

It was also reported that he had offered the film to Ranbir Kapoor, but at that time it was not finalized. However, now it has been finalized that Ranbir will play Sanjay Dutt in the film.

Ranbir was chosen not only for his acting calibre, but also for the fact that he shared a very close relationship with Sanjay Dutt. The latter has always been very protective about Ranbir and has been guiding him at regular intervals.

Ranbir and Sanjay often worked out together at the latter's gym while Ranbir was also privileged to take Sanju's mean machines out for a ride.

As Ranbir has been like a family to Sanju, Hirani chose to cast him so that he can portray the emotions of the troubled star to perfection.

Since Sanju is serving his jail term, Hirani was forced to postpone 'Munnabhai 3' and after finishing his post production work on Aamir Khan's 'P.K.', he will commence the actor's biopic.

Can't wait to watch this one, can we?
