David Dhawan is away from movie-making business for almost three years now. The last film directed by him was 'Main Tera Hero' which starred his son Varun Dhawan in the lead. Now the director daddy will again direct a film for his son. And this one will be a sequel to the 1997 Salman Khan starrer 'Judwaa'.
The sequel to the film is ready and Varun will be essaying the main lead in the film playing a double role for the first time on the big screen. The director says, "I am in this because of my son and my friend producer Sajid Nadiadwala. Sajid and I go back a long way. When Varun was cast in Judwaa 2, I had to direct the sequel."
He also added, "We are going to start shooting by the end of the year. Right now, I am working on the script. We have to make sure the story justifies a sequel. We can't just work on a sequel to cash in on a successful film. That's why we waited 18 years to do the sequel."
The earlier 'Judwaa' starred Salman Khan and Karisma Kapoor in the lead while the search for the female lead of ‘Judwaa 2’ is still going on.
