It is Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao's NTR biopic where actor Nandamuri Balakrishna will showcases his rise as a theatre actor and career in politics. The trailer also includes Vidya Balan who plays NTR's first wife, Basavatarakam.
The trailer begins with the protagonist stepping into a theatre drama as lord Krishna. From there we trace the journey of Nandamuri Balakrishna as NTR plays a loving husband and a caring leader, who at one point says that if he deemed cinema to be a hurdle for his service towards people, he would leave cinema behind.

It was surprising that the trailer didn't introduce major roles like Rana Daggubati and Nandamuri Kalyanram who play Chandrababu Naidu and Nandamuri Harikrishna respectively.
NT Rama Rao, fondly known as NTR, was an Indian actor, producer, director, editor and politician who served as the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh for seven years. He received three National Film Awards for co-producing 'Thodu Dongalu' (1954) and 'Seetharama Kalyanam' (1960) and directing 'Varakatnam' (1970).
The film titled 'Kathanayakudu' is slated to release on January 9, 2019 and 'Mahanayakudu' is slated to release on February 7, 2019.
