• PadMan official trailer: Akki acts as a real-life superhero in reel-life

    15th December 2017

Here is something to cheer for the Akshay Kumar fans out there as 'PadMan' official trailer is out. Apart from Akki, the film features Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in pivotal roles. Just like the previous flick 'Toilet- Ek Prem Katha' R. Balki's film once again promotes an incredible true story of social awakening in a light-hearted manner.

The trailer introduces Akshay Kumar with a voiceover from Mr. Bachchan who introduces India's superhero PadMan in comparison to all the superheroes of the US. Akshay is seen working on his project of making an affordable sanitary pad for women and he even experiments the fitting of those pads on himself by wearing it. He even approaches with these self-made pads to his sisters and his wife, who just run away and ignore this sensitive sanitary health issue.

Akshay's on-screen journey is inspired by the story of a real-life man Arunachalam Muruganantham whose wife leaves him and the people of his village disrespected him for his thoughts. That is until hope walks back into his life in the form of a social worker who helps him realise his dreams.

From a small town in South India to US supported by the IITians, the struggle is defined with a lukewarm humour as per the tone found in its official trailer. Radhika plays Akshay's wife and the inspiration behind all that he accomplished for women's menstrual health. Sonam is the one who helps him do it all. All actors fit their roles quite well, but Radhika shines the brightest with her innocent charm.

Produced by Twinkle Khanna's Mrs. Funnybones Productions, the film is slated to release on the Republic Day and will clash with Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee-starrer 'Aiyaary' at the box office.
